Peer Support Services

Have you ever tried to talk to your family or friends about what you are experiencing, but they just don’t seem to understand?  Peer Support Specialists are individuals who have personally experienced and recovered from a mental health condition, similar to what you may be struggling with.  Peers can relate to you in a non-clinical, more personal way as they have a similar lived experience. Peers are positive role models who can offer hope, demonstrating by their own life that recovery is possible.  Some of the things that Peer Support Specialists can do include:

  •      *Providing one-on-one coaching and advocating for you.
  •
  •      *Promoting participation in treatment and in meetings with professionals.
  •
  •      *Helping you navigate services or participate in activities in the community.
  •
  •      *Sharing personal stories of hope and recovery with you when you need encouragement.
  •
  •      *Helping you build the necessary skills to function at your best at work, school, or at home.
  •
  •      *Acting as your own personal mentor.
  •
  •       Much more………
