Cynthia Henson, BS

Director of Utilization Management

Behind every client’s care at The Oaks, there’s a team working to make sure that care is actually there when you need it — I’m proud to be part of that team.

Hi, I’m Cynthia Henson, Director of Utilization Management at The Oaks Behavioral Health. While I’m not in the therapy room, my work makes sure the services you need are properly authorized and available, so you can focus on your recovery instead of the paperwork behind it.

With over 25 years in mental health — including direct clinical roles like recreational therapy and case management, as well as administrative and management positions in behavioral health practice management and human resources — I understand both sides of care: what happens with the client, and what has to happen behind the scenes to support it. That combination is exactly why this role matters. I use that experience to guide the proper use of services, so clients receive the care that’s medically necessary for a full recovery, without unnecessary delays or gaps.

“I remain committed to doing everything I can to help our clients receive the care they deserve.”

“I have worked in behavioral health settings, both inpatient and outpatient, for over 25 years. Being the Director of UM is rewarding. My goal is to be an asset to our clinical programs by guiding the proper utilization of services so that clients can receive the care they need to make a full recovery.”
